Lattes and Llamas have published some lovely double-sided geek-a-long ( GAL ) square patterns. Ideally Cascade 220 wool should be used but any similar 4 ply wool is fine.  The majority of my wools were from Cygnet DK wool from my local charity shops (this way I could think of it like money to charity and not spending huge amounts of money on wool!). I have done about 30 of the 2014 squares which was the first set of GAL patterns they published.  Here is a selection of some of my favourite GAL squares I have done: 1 - Mario Mushroom Although this isn't my photo ( above ), my square looked exactly the same as it.   The colours used in these squares work best with high contrast colours and especially well if you manage to get the colours which are traditional to logos or film.  My photos are seen opposite the text.   I have only recently got into gaming and my gaming skills are limited - mostly mario kart , wii sports and the lego starwars or Harry Potter .  I n

I've started a pair of fair isle mittens - this is my first fairisle project and first pair of mittens! The wonderful pattern was found here  and was relatively simple as a first fairisle project. I loved the dalek pattern, just two colours made it easier to follow. Although I did this project flat and then seamed it, using an afterthought thumb ( part 1 and part 2 ), I'm sure the pattern could be followed in the round.

About me

Hi, I’m Jennifer and welcome to my craft blog 'Nerdy Nitter'. This is my zone on the internet where I will blog all things knitted and geeky. I  began this blog in May 2015  and have restarted it March 2016. I hope I can  share things I make and enjoy with you. I’ve been knitting as long as I can remember and have taught several of my friends and even my 5 and 9 year old cousins to knit. I am mostly self-taught, supplementing my skills with youtube videos although my grandma first sparked my interest.  I’ve always been crafty and  starting this blog has helped me to give something back to the people who have got me this far. My first  mittens  - loved the pattern for  dalek fairisle chart Knitting is a large part of my daily life. I find that it is therapeutic and easy to take on  public transport as long as it isn't banned , especially trains or long car journeys.  I especially love knitting whilst watching TV or listening to music, it can also be helpful to

Introduction

Hello Internet, it's me nerdyfantasiees. This is my first official post. My blog is going to be mainly focused on knitting projects I have completed and other subjects of interest. I will be aiming to do a post every few weeks, probably on projects I am making.  I will also link to webpages that are useful and free, as I don't really use patterns you have to pay for. Deramores, Lattes and Llamas are my favorite places to browse for patterns - Ravelry is also great but you need to get an account to save patterns. *Just a side note, congratulations to Kate and Wills with their new baby daughter born at 8:34am on the 2nd May 2015, weighing in at 8lb and 3oz.* They named her Charlotte! Thanks, See you soon :)
